Well, today's been pretty hum-drum. This morning before heading into work, my wife surprised with me a birthday gift of the first season of 'The Tudors'. I had once mentioned that I would like to watch it. Well, now I am, and am almost finished up. Really great series, I might have to get the others if and when they come out. Soooo... I'm making a donation to Locks of Love. I cut off a 14 inch ponytail, plus had the rest of my hair then cut. I'll see if I can get a pic of it up and post it. It was funny because I went in there with Brie, and they thought that she was going to be getting the haircut. They then asked just how much I wanted to have cut, and I explained what I was doing. They sat me down, pulled the hair tight, and snipped it off. They set that aside, and then got to doing the rest. I'll be sending out my donation tomorrow. Of course now my head just feels wierd, haven't had a hair cut in well over a year. Now I just have to get a job, and I'll be all set. bit of an update
So I got fired Friday. Basically, I was set up by a member of the supervisory staff, and put under 'investigation'. Well, after a week of this so called 'investigation', they called me into the office and told me that I was gone. Our system at work can record phone calls, and what is happening on your desktop. They informed me that I was hanging up on customers on the phone, and also deleting all customer emails, without helping anyone. This I know is complete BS. When I was released, they told me that since they were able to view the emails, they weren't even going to bother listening to the phone conversations. Now the interesting thing, is that anyone with your log-in information (supervisors and up) can log in from any computer. This way, if someone is trying to get another person fired, all they would have to do is log in with your id and password, then delete the emails as they come through. Hence, we have the situation that I currently find myself in. There is a supervisor there that has been trying her hardest to get me fired since I started there, and it looks like she finally figured out how to do it. Am I angry, well that goes without saying. However the big worry for now is income. So... if anyone happens to know of any local positions that are open, I would greatly appreciate the heads up. quick update
So work sucks, and by sucks, I mean a supervisor is actually going out of her way to try to get me fired. It's kind of wierd when you are shown things that they say you are doing, when you know for a fact that it wasn't you. Of course this is happening at a time when there really isn't much out there in the way of jobs, so I'm just praying I'm not going to be royally screwed. Other than that, I've started writing again, but instead of my longer works, I've decided to try children's writing. I've also discovered that almost every publisher out there doesn't want to talk to you, so I'm now looking for an agent. I've submited to a few, and now I'm hoping to hear back from one. So I pulled out the razor, and began tallying the votes. I must admit that I was a bit surprised with the result though. A resounding 70% of the votes cast, stated to keep it long. hiring again
Well, because of the success of Borders.com, which technically hasn't even been publicaly released yet, we are hiring at our call center again. Currently we really need to hire people because of how busy the website is keeping us. The call center is located in LaVergne, and pay is decent. Shave my head??? You decide...
So I've been growing out my hair for awhile now. I've actually grown a respectable bit in just over a year. I currently am sporting a ponytail that measures just over a foot in length. However, I'm giving thought to just shaving it all off and going clean shaven for awhile. Now, I've had a shaved head before, and I kind of liked it, but it also took me over a year to get my hair the length it is now. So here is what I'm thinking. I'm going to take votes from people on wether or not to shave my head. There will be no middle ground in this, such as 'well, just get it cut short, and style it', this is an all or nothing kind of thing. I'll take votes up till the end of July. On August 1st, I'll tally up everything, and let you all know if I'm going to be keeping the long hair, or pulling out my razer and shaving cream. If I can track down a camera, I might also post a pic of my hair length as it currently is. So those of you who know me, get to thinking about this, and let me know your opinion. This is a swift kick to the groin.
So things have been tight at work lately, and it sucks because they have cut back hours. Thus far, Brandy and I have been carpooling when possible to conserve gas, as it costs way too damn much. So I get my schedule for next week, and not only is it only 33 hours, but mine and Brandy's schedules don't synch up at all, which means more gas money that we really don't have. Plus I have now lost my set days off, so us trying to spend time together as a family has been completely, utterly destroyed. I really don't know what to do right now. The job market is pretty much nonexistant right now, so even though it's getting to the point that I can't afford to go to work, I also can't afford not too. Hmmm... where to start. Well my dear, I'm sorry to inform you that while I did enjoy the flirtation, and the periodic rubbing of your breasts agaist my body, it didn't really effect your tip any. You see, I was in your establishment to meet up with some friends, watch an event, and get a bite to eat. While your flirtatious actions probably garner you rather hefty tips from drunken neandrathals, I was only drinking a soft drink the entire evening, so I was quite sober. Not to mention the simple fact that I was married, a fact that was rather apparent, as my wife and children were also there for almost an hour before leaving. Plus of course, there happens to be this rather large piece of metal wrapped around the ring finger of my left hand. Where I still a single man, then your advances may well have garnered you a higher tip, but I have grown immune to such things in my current state. I wish you luck in your future endevors of taking drunken mens money, though you may not want to try so hard next time with a sober married one. sad news
I received a call from my sister this weekend with some very sad news. Her two month old boy Devon, passed away in his sleep Saturday morning. Services will be held tomorrow. Please send your prayers her way. Current Mood:  sad |
